PSYCHO ZEONG

My entry for SG GBWC 2014 (Champion).

This is my second attempt on MG Perfect Zeong. The first was back in 2008 BAKUC when it won Champion and subsequently 1st Runner-up in the HK final on that same year.

My interest for obscure mobile suit design leads me to list Zeong as one of my favourite MS in the Gundam universe. In that sense, the list naturally includes Psycho Gundam (and MKII), Destroy Gundam, Quin Mantha and Geymalk (must build one of these at some point of time).

Time was of the essence when our GBWC 2014 was announced to be held in conjuction with Gunpla Expo on September. We were left with a tight deadline for entry submission.

My first entry idea was Psycho Gundam MK II, then I noticed from my stash, an already assembled MG Perfect Zeong. I was in dilemma which kit to pursue and then I made a decision. Why don’t I blend the two ideas together! With that, the Psycho Zeong was born.

I always find the face design of Zeong is not menacing enough. As such I try to modify the head/face area to be more ‘fierce’ looking. I think that worked out quite well to my overall intended goal i.e. to make my entry more dark, sinister and bad-ass looking.

Modification was done to the torso area where I had it lenghtened because I do not like the original ‘short’ version. Thus this also makes Psycho Zeong’s height much taller than the original MG PZ.

I could have gone with Black/Grayish color scheme of Psycho Gundam but Purple was the obvious choice for me 🙂
